5 Ways Technology Can Fast-Track Business Growth

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

The right tools and technology are required if you want to successfully compete in the business world. We are fortunate to be living in a time where digital technology advances make it easier and simpler for you to be successful. We are going to focus on five technologies that can help your business grow and be successful.

Sales Technology

There are many technological advances in sales tools that can help you and your team connect with more clients and close more deals. If you use the proper telecommunications tools, you can increase the speed of your calls and texts to potential and existing customers.

For example, Click to call applications to work on your website and allow your clients to click and call you directly. Many CRM solutions can queue up calls that you need to place, thereby reducing your dialing time.

Sales intelligence tools are available to help you understand and target your customer. LinkedIn offers Sales Navigator that provides contact and company information. If you use Gmail, check out Clearbit Connect which works inside Gmail and Microsoft Outlook.

Marketing Technology

Marketing is especially important in building your business success. This includes traditional marketing, email marketing, and social media marketing. It is important to have your website optimized for mobile as all your marketing campaigns should drive prospects back to your website.

There are many email marketing solutions on the market. Many have free introductory plans that you can take advantage of to start building your list. We happen to like MailChimp and urge you to give them a try. {Disclosure: we may receive a commission when you sign up for MailChimp.}

Likewise, there are many social media marketing tools that are available. We prefer Hootsuite and Buffer. Both have mobile apps that make it easier for us to use when we’re out and about.

Hiring Technology

Hiring employees for your business can be a challenge.  However, it doesn’t have to be. If you use recruitment tools online you can sift through thousands of applicants in no time to find the perfect fit. There are tools like job aggregators, testing and assessment, applicant tracking systems, and more.

If you need small jobs performed, you may want to consider online services like Fiverr and Envato. They can help you write quality content for your website, design flyers, and more. You may be able to run your business with virtual employees!

CRM Technology

CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) solutions are amazing software solutions that help organize your relationships with potential and current clients. Most of these SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions offer integrations into other digital technologies as well. There are many entry-level CRMs that you can try out for free: Hubspot, ZoHo, and Capsule.

We have assisted clients in setting up systems in Hubspot and in ZoHo. Both products offer great training programs and a friendly help desk staff to get you on the right track.

Accounting Technology

“Show me the money!” After all, that’s why you wanted to be in business for yourself… right? As a small business owner, you need to be able to properly track your income and expenses. Spreadsheets really aren’t appropriate. So the answer becomes one of selecting the best accounting technology for your company.

Here are a few that you can review to see if they meet your needs: Wave Accounting, ZoHo Books, Xero, and Freshbooks. Wave Accounting is completely free. ZoHo Books has a free tier option as well. Every one of these we’ve listed has a trial option so you can choose what works best for you.

The right tools and technology can help your business grow and become successful. Look at the specific areas of your business (sales, marketing, hiring, customer relations, and accounting) where a technology solution would be beneficial.
