What Keeps You Awake at Night?

A couple of weeks ago, we sent out a survey to our email subscribers asking “What Keeps You Awake at Night?” The majority of our subscribers are small business owners and entrepreneurs. The questions (one open-ended and one multiple choice) we asked were:

  • When you think about your business, what would you do if you had all the time in the world?
  • What needs to be done in your business that you just don’t have the time to get it done?

What Would You Do If You Had All The Time

This was our open-ended question. We were able to consolidate the results down to two main responses – both of which were equally weighted. You wanted to be able to use your business skills to help other people and you wanted to be able to spend more time with your family.

Veracity Technologies was started out of the need to help other people navigate the many technical pitfalls that present themselves to the small business owner. Secondarily, we wanted to be able to have the personal freedom to spend time with family.

What Needs to be Done in Your Business

With this multiple choice question, we wanted to understand what you felt needed to be done in your business but you simply didn’t have the time to perform a particular task. Overwhelmingly you felt that you needed better ways to engage with your customers. The next highest response rate was attributed to the need to manage your brand across multiple social media platforms. We were somewhat surprised to find that a minority of you felt the need to keep your website patched with the latest security releases and that you didn’t see the need for keeping fresh content on your site.

What’s Next

One of the reasons we did this survey was to find out for ourselves how we could better engage you as a current and/or potential client. Technology can be both daunting and helpful. Our goal is to provide you with the right tools and techniques. That way, your business doesn’t keep you awake at night.
